Railway Electrical Estimator Permanent Remote Working Negotiable + Benefits We are seeking a Railway Electrical Estimator to join a growing rail business on a permanent basis. This is a predominantly remote role with occasional visits to company offices and project meetings. Candidates will ideally be based in the South West of England, South Wales or along the M4/M5 Corridors . Working closely with bid, commercial and delivery teams, you will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive cost estimates for railway electrical projects, helping to secure and deliver works across the UK rail sector. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates and pricing submissions for railway electrical projects. Assist in the collation and production of pricing documentation for bids and tenders. Review drawings, specifications and scope documents to develop accurate costings. Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations. Develop and maintain estimating spreadsheets, pricing models and tender cost databases. Support commercial reviews and bid submission activities. Liaise with operational and engineering teams to ensure robust and competitive tender submissions. Requirements Previous experience as of carrying out Electrical Estimating within the rail sector in the UK . Strong commercial awareness and understanding of estimating principles. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite. Ability to analyse technical documentation and produce accurate cost estimates. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently in a remote environment. Knowledge of railway electrical systems, station electrical works, power distribution, lighting, or associated rail projects would be advantageous. Whilst the role can mostly be conducted remotely, you will be required from time to time to attend project meetings at head office.
