We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to join our team in Yeovil.
Responsibilities:
- Plan project work and oversee procurement of materials and equipment.
- Manage staff and subcontractors to ensure smooth site operations.
- Supervise day-to-day construction activities, including quality control and site inspections.
- Monitor project progress, set benchmarks, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Review design documents in collaboration with architects, engineers, and surveyors.
- Promote and enforce Health & Safety and Environmental standards, including site inspections.
- Create, review, and amend Method Statements and Risk Assessments as required.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
- Communicate regularly with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to report progress.
- Keep accurate site records, including diaries, reports, and client updates.
- Manage project-specific traffic plans and logistics.
- Complete all required administrative tasks and use company management systems effectively.
- Address unexpected issues on site and elevate to higher management when necessary.
- Undertake additional tasks as required to support project success.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in site supervision or Black Hat Supervisor role.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with clients, professionals, and site operatives.
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate your team and ensure high standards of work.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills to monitor project plans and utilise time and resources effectively.
- Resilience and problem solving abilities to overcome unexpected challenges and make decisions under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Sound awareness of Health & Safety procedures, legislation, and environmental compliance.
- Competent in maths and IT skills relevant to site management.
- Knowledge of relevant building methods and construction techniques.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certificate.
- Ability to pass Drugs & Alcohol (D&A) testing and BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) vetting.
- First Aid at Work desirable.
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
