Project Architect

Location: Colchester

Salary : 37-45,000

An award-winning architectural practice based in Colchester is seeking an experienced Project Architect to join their ambitious and growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented and design-focused individual with strong technical expertise to take a leading role in delivering a wide range of projects across the UK. The practice works across multiple sectors, including residential, mixed-use, education, commercial, industrial, master planning, and health & special care. You will play a key part in shaping the practice's creative and strategic direction while managing projects and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver architectural projects from concept to completion
  • Contribute to the strategic growth and development of the practice
  • Manage and mentor junior architects and assistants
  • Represent the practice at client meetings, presentations, and networking events
  • Produce and review detailed drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Liaise confidently with clients, consultants, and contractors
  • Ensure compliance with building regulations and planning requirements
  • Oversee on-site construction to maintain quality and meet deadlines
  • Support business development and strengthen client relationships


About You

  • ARB or RIBA registered with substantial UK-based experience
  • Strong design and technical skills with excellent Revit proficiency
  • Proven experience delivering projects within the commercial and education sectors
  • Confident communicator with strong client-facing and presentation abilities
  • Highly motivated, organised, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and mentoring skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building regulations, planning, and construction processes
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
