It s a fast-paced environment with a quick turnaround, where teamwork, communication, and adaptability are key. The client base ranges from homeowners to leading contractors across both building and civil engineering sectors, meaning you ll never be short of variety or interesting conversations.

This is a hands-on position that blends surveying and estimating with plenty of client interaction. You ll handle incoming enquiries, prepare quotes using standard rates, and occasionally visit sites to scope out requirements. From there, you ll liaise with the operations team to confirm availability of resources, follow up on quotes, manage variations, and handle invoicing or applications for payment on larger projects. You ll have daily exposure to the business owners and leadership team, working closely together with the Commercial Director who brings over 14 years of experience and will provide ongoing valuable support and guidance throughout your role.

Because you ll often be the first point of contact, you ll need to be confident and clear in your communication comfortable engaging with all sorts of customers over the phone and in person. A driving licence is essential, as the office isn t easily reached by public transport and occasional site visits are part of the job.

What we re looking for:

  • Ideally, you ll have experience in surveying most likely quantity surveying but candidates with an engineering background and estimating/pricing experience are also encouraged to apply.
  • Familiarity with NEC and/or JCT contract types is highly desirable.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to react quickly to client needs in a high-volume, specialist service environment.
  • A confident communicator, capable of building rapport with clients ranging from major tier-1 contractors to domestic customers.
