JOB TITLE: CAD Designer

JOB SUMMARY:
To produce accurate and fabrication-ready 3D CAD models for architectural metalwork projects using Advance Steel, supporting the delivery of high-quality technical outputs across the business. The role requires strong attention to detail, effective collaboration, and adherence to the companies design standards and fabrication protocols.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Develop detailed 3D CAD models for architectural metalwork including staircases, balustrades, canopies, cladding, and bespoke features.
• Interpret architectural and structural drawings to create fabrication-ready designs.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and production teams to gather design requirements and resolve technical challenges.
• Revise and update models based on feedback from internal stakeholders and clients.
• Ensure all design outputs comply with company standards, fabrication tolerances, and project specifications.
• Maintain drawing registers and ensure proper documentation and version control.
• Provide technical support to production teams, including drawing clarifications and issue resolution.
• Participate in design coordination meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stay current with CAD software developments and architectural metalwork trends.

Documentation & Standards

• Ensure all models and associated documentation are accurate, traceable, and archived according to company procedures.
• Follow established drawing protocols and contribute to maintaining technical consistency across the team.

Accountability

• Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of assigned design tasks.
• Accountable for delivering models that meet fabrication and installation requirements.
• Expected to manage workload effectively and communicate progress or issues proactively.
• Must uphold health and safety compliance in all technical outputs.
