Tradewind Recruitment are working on behalf of a welcoming and well-established primary school in the London Borough of Lewisham, who are seeking an experienced and reliable Premises Manager to join their team from December 2025. This is a long-term position with the opportunity to become a valued and integral part of the school community.
The successful candidate will be taking over from the current Premises Manager, who is retiring in January, and will therefore benefit from a comprehensive handover period in December to ensure a smooth transition.
Role Overview:As Premises Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and efficient running of the school site. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the buildings and grounds, ensuring they provide a safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:Oversee site maintenance, security, and health & safety procedures
Carry out minor repairs and liaise with contractors for larger works
Manage cleaning and site staff to ensure high standards across the school
Open and close the school site daily
Conduct regular checks and risk assessments
Ensure compliance with all statutory and safeguarding requirements
Have previous experience in a similar school or facilities role
Possess strong practical and organisational skills
Demonstrate reliability, initiative, and a proactive approach to site management
Be confident managing health & safety and compliance documentation
Be available for split shifts during the school day
