Technical / Compliance Manager - Passive Fire Protection

My client is a leading contractor operating within the passive fire protection market, delivering fire door installation and fire compartmentation projects ranging from £1k to £2m. These include high and low rise domestic and commercial properties within the private and public sector. Due to continued expansion, we have an exciting opportunity for a Technical / Compliance Manager to join the Southern team.
Attending various sites throughout the South of the UK, the you will be responsible for undertaking rigorous and detailed inspections of works including Passive Fire Protection, Fire Doors, Intumescent Paint and Fire-Resistant Glazing Systems. You will ensure all works are completed to the highest possible standard, specification (including materials) and schedule throughout the duration of a contract.
The key responsibilities for the Technical / Compliance Manager will include:
Managing and Carrying out Technical Quality Assurance audits (both visual and intrusive) of works (installation of Passive Fire Protection, Fire Doors, Intumescent Paint and Fire-Resistant Glazing Systems)
Take or review measurements on site to ensure that the work and materials meet specific specifications and company quality standards
Provide clear and consistent feedback to Contracts Managers/Supervisors within agreed timescales
Liaise with site Supervisors/Sub contractors and clients to ensure they are kept up to date with the status of your audits
Interpret technical drawings and written instructions for use when inspecting works
Ensure up to date knowledge of legal requirements, ensuring the company achieves compliance at all times
Accurately maintain and manage all relevant records and databases relating to work processed
Assist with accreditation audits e.g. LPCB and Firas
Generate and issue reports and KPI data to the Technical department
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the Quality Assurance process
Attend relevant office as and when required to liaise with colleagues and/or attend meetings/trainingWe are looking for the Technical / Compliance Manager to have the following experience:
You will be someone who has experience of the building and construction industry with a working knowledge and passion for health and safety legislation compliance.
You must have excellent attention to detail and have the ability to interpret technical documents and drawings.
You will have strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and be a competent, confident professional.
