Job Description
My client has an opening for a Yard Supervisor to join their team.
Key Responsibilities

Supervision: You'll oversee and coordinate the activities of 4-5 yard workers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Operations Management: Manage daily yard operations, including scheduling workloads, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Logistics Coordination: Schedule and monitor inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring proper handling and storage of materials.

Staff Management: Hire, train, and evaluate yard staff, conducting performance appraisals and implementing disciplinary actions as necessary.

Safety Compliance: Develop and implement safety programs, conduct routine inspections, and ensure adherence to workplace health and safety regulations.

Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels, place purchase orders as needed, and maintain a neat and organized yard.

Experience: Previous experience in a supervisory role, particularly in logistics or yard operations, is essential.

Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills are necessary. Familiarity with safety regulations and inventory management systems is also beneficial.

Work Environment: The role may involve working outdoors in various weather conditions and requires physical stamina to manage yard operations effectively. There is a need to use side loaders and counterbalance forklifts so a licence would be advantageous but not essential.
