Our client is a leading renewable energy developer and asset management business headquartered in London, with a strong focus on the UK and European markets.
The company develops, constructs, and operates low-carbon energy projects and infrastructure. With a growing pipeline of projects, including 300 MW of solar and battery developments scheduled for construction over the next two years, the business is expanding its delivery team.
We are seeking a Solar Construction Project Planner to oversee the full lifecycle of solar projects from initial design and planning through to construction and commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Project Management: Manage projects through all stages design, construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Budget & Schedule Management: Develop project designs, cost estimates, and procurement plans to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Resource Coordination: Plan and manage resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials. Coordinate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the main point of contact between internal teams, engineers, suppliers, and Distribution Network Operators (DNOs).
- Health, Safety & Quality: Ensure full compliance with SHEQ standards through site visits, risk assessments, and active monitoring of site performance.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate project records, track progress, and prepare regular updates for senior stakeholders.
Key Skills & Experience
- Experience or a strong interest in project planning and management within construction or renewable energy (Solar/ BESS).
- Excellent team coordination and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
- A degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline is desirable but not essential. Candidates with higher technical qualifications (HNC, HND, or T Level) in a construction or project management field are encouraged to apply.
- Technical knowledge of solar PV systems and construction processes.
- Commercial and contractual awareness, particularly around large-scale energy or infrastructure projects.
- Strong planning and scheduling capability, ideally using project management software or scheduling tools.
