About the Role
Redwood Search are working on behalf of an Architectural and Design practice to source an Assistant Project Manager- ideally with experience within the construction industry. Supported by a Senior Project Manager to ensure that our projects stay on track, on budget, and meet client requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, and coordinating project tasks and milestones
- Visit client sites regularly to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to health & safety standards
- Track project deliverables, manage documentation (drawings, change orders, site reports)
- Maintain project budgets, forecast costs, and flag potential overruns
- Facilitate communication with clients, providing updates, attending site meetings and addressing concerns
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and site protocols
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience (1-3 years minimum) in a construction, interiors, refurbishment or project coordination role
- Strong organisational skills, able to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines
- Excellent verbal & written communication - confident dealing with clients, contractors, internal stakeholders
- Problem-solver mindset - you see obstacles as puzzles to crack
- Ability and willingness to travel to client sites and work on site regularly
- A proactive, hands-on attitude - you won't hide behind a desk
Desirable
- Familiarity with drawing interpretation / understanding architectural / technical drawings
- Basic knowledge of materials, finishes, construction methodologies
- Experience with cost tracking, change control and commercial discipline
