The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Construction Estimator to join this reputable main contractor based in Colchester. The successful candidate will play a key role in the pre-construction team, leading the pricing and tendering of a wide variety of projects across sectors such as commercial, education, healthcare, and residential.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage the preparation of tenders and cost estimates for both negotiated and competitive bids.

Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate and competitive costings.

Liaise with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners to ensure clarity and precision in bids.

Identify value engineering opportunities and contribute to the development of winning strategies.

Work closely with the pre-construction and project delivery teams to ensure smooth project handovers.

Mentor junior estimators and support their professional development.
The Candidate:

Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within a main contracting environment.

Strong technical understanding of construction processes and materials.

Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability, and commercial acumen.

Confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.

Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
