My client are a well established well respected company with over 50 years trading and an extensive portfolio in letting commercial premises including warehouse/factories/offices/retail/shops/ leisure.
They have around 350 units spread across the Yorkshire region, mainly in West Yorkshire. The properties range from small one unit developments to large business and industrial developments.
Due to sustained growth they are looking for a maintenance assistant to work for the maintenance manager, this is an excellent opportunity to work in a hands on role with an SME business where you will be involved in lots of areas of the business with potential to eventually move into a more senior role.
The Maintenance Assistant role will involve:
Attending units and creating a list of repairs and improvements that will be required.
These properties are mainly large industrial properties so a thorough understanding of how they are constructed is required.
Working with the maintenance manager to contact Contractors to complete the works
Helping Maintenance Manager to manage contractors who undertake the repairs.
Reading drawings and blueprints
Completing risk assessments
Using Excel, word and CRM
Take photographs whilst on site of repairs to discuss with Maintenance Manager
Other tasks to support Maintenance Manager
As you progress you will be offered opportunities to do other tasks within the business.
The ideal Maintenance Assistant will:
Have a thorough understanding of how a building is constructed (large properties)
Be proficient in Microsoft word and excel
Can read construction drawings and blueprints
Can ability to identify what repairs are required in a building
Ideally have worked in a similar background.

Have Full driving licence and own car
Be Professional and have a can-do attitude

Key Responsibilities
* Comply to all Health, Safety, Environment and Quality policies and site specific EH&S requirements at all times
* Responsible for the health and safety of the drill crew and other operatives and sub-contractors who may be operating within the drilling area controlled by the Lead Driller
* Attend inductions, training and EH&S meetings as and when required
* Attend and successfully complete necessary health and safety training required to deliver projects safely
* Work with project managers and site engineers to ensure field work is delivered safely and efficiently whilst maintaining high quality standards
* Produce site records including, but not limited to; daily drilling logs, pre-start drilling rig checks, one-minute risk assessments, vehicle and tachograph records
* Undertake ground investigation utilising sonic drilling in accordance with the appropriate specification
* Complete in-situ testing and sampling in accordance with the requirements set out in Eurocode 7 and British Standards
* With the assistance of the Driller, carry out routine and preventative maintenance, including regular cleaning of rig and vehicle, as and when required. Ensuring the maintenance and appearance of the drill rig and vehicle is kept to a high standard
* Undertake other general labouring duties e.g. erecting fences, general reinstatement, light instrument monitoring, delivery of consumables, hand dug inspection pits and collection of samples
Role Requirements
* Full Clean UK Diving License with ability/licence to tow desirable
* Valid CSCS card
* Level 2 NVQ in Land Drilling (Preferred)
* Mobility, flexibility and commitment
