The Project This is a landmark commercial office development in SE1, London, involving:
£40m electrical-only installation package
2 Basement Levels, a 5-storey podium, and two towers:
26-storey South Tower
13-storey North Tower
Complete electrical scope including:
HV/LV Systems, Generators, Lightning Protection, Small Power, Lighting & Control, Submains, Mains Cabling, and Busbar Systems
Major plant located in Basement 2, with substations on roof areas of both towers
Role Overview We are looking for a Senior Planner with strong electrical (MEP) experience to take ownership of the planning lifecycle for this complex, multi-structure project. You'll lead the development and coordination of project schedules from pre-construction (PCSA) through to final commissioning, working with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors.
This is a long-term, career-defining opportunity on a Tier 1-led project with full PAYE benefits.
Key Responsibilities - Develop, manage and update the detailed project schedule using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
- Build project-specific Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) to define deliverables, timelines, and key milestones
- Maintain accurate and compliant project documentation in line with company standards and client requirements
- Track and report project performance, monitor KPIs, and produce stakeholder reports, including Earned Value Analysis (EVA)
- Identify risks, delays and emerging issues; propose and implement mitigation strategies
- Allocate labour and materials effectively to meet programme deliverables
- Collaborate closely with PMs, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure schedules reflect site realities and client expectations
- Support planning best practices and improve project control systems
Candidate Requirements (Non-Negotiables) - Proven experience as a Senior Planner on major electrical or MEP projects (£30m+)
- Proficient in Primavera P6 (essential)
- Strong understanding of construction planning, particularly for electrical building services installations
- Demonstrated ability to manage programme risk, change control, and schedule reporting
- Familiar with JCT and/or NEC contracts
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and reporting skills
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
