About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and implement quality assurance and control processes on a major high-rise residential development in Birmingham City Centre.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all works including architectural, structural, and M&E elements are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. You will play a key role in maintaining consistency, driving best practice, and supporting the site team to achieve flawless project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Management Plan (QMP) in line with company procedures and client requirements.

  • Carry out regular site inspections and audits to monitor build quality and ensure works are in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.

  • Identify, record, and manage defects, snags, and non-conformances, ensuring timely close-out and corrective action.

  • Support subcontractors and site teams with guidance on quality standards, materials, and installation practices.

  • Review and approve Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), quality records, and handover documentation.

  • Lead quality-related meetings, workshops, and toolbox talks to promote a culture of excellence.

  • Liaise with the client, design team, and senior management to provide clear reporting on quality performance and progress.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quality Manager, Clerk of Works, or Quality Inspector on large-scale residential or mixed-use developments.

  • Strong technical understanding of construction processes, including structural, architectural, and M&E disciplines.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and communication abilities.

  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems and relevant British Standards.

  • Proficient in digital snagging and quality tracking tools (e.g. Field View, SnagR, Zutec, etc.).

  • Relevant construction qualifications (HNC/HND or degree in Construction, Engineering, or Quality Management).

  • CSCS card required.
