My client, a fast-growing and technically driven manufacturing business in the construction sector, is looking for a Sales Estimator to join their busy and collaborative office team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with customer-facing work and wants to progress within a company offering clear development opportunities.

This is not a proactive sales focused role instead, you will focus on interpreting technical drawings, assessing project requirements, and providing accurate quotations and solutions to clients. You ll be a key part of the sales process, working closely with project managers and colleagues to ensure each project runs smoothly from enquiry to handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on technical aspects of construction and product suitability.
  • Analyse project details and interpret CAD drawings to propose appropriate solutions.
  • Prepare and issue accurate quotations, including budget and detailed estimates.
  • Manage and record enquiries through CRM systems, ensuring clear follow-ups and tracking.
  • Liaise with clients to clarify specifications, adjustments, and project progress.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless delivery process.
  • Contribute to process improvements and support innovation within the technical sales function.

Person Specification

  • Exposure to the construction, roofing, or building envelope sectors, or a relevant technical discipline.
  • Alternatively, a graduate in engineering, mathematics, or a related field will be considered.
  • Strong logical thinker with a technical mindset enjoys working with numbers, drawings, and problem-solving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organised and detail-focused, capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Previous experience in estimating, technical sales, or quoting roles is advantageous.
  • Competent with CAD drawings and familiar with CRM systems.
  • Professional, proactive, and collaborative personality, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
