Job Title: Intermediate Quantity Surveyor

Location: Manchester
Salary: £35,000 £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Company

Our client is a leading Food & Beverage Design & Build contractor, delivering bespoke projects across the UK. With a reputation for quality, creativity, and reliability, they partner with a range of well-known brands to create engaging and functional hospitality environments.

As the business continues to grow, they are looking to appoint an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their close-knit commercial team of three. This is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive contractor offering real career development and regular salary reviews.

Role Overview

The Intermediate Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for supporting the commercial management of projects ranging in value from £25k to £1m, working across all stages of the project lifecycle. You will be confident working under your own initiative, managing take-offs, and contributing to the successful financial delivery of projects.

While previous fit-out experience would be advantageous, it s not essential a background in construction or D&B contracting will be equally valued.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage project cost plans, valuations, and variations

  • Carry out detailed take-offs and prepare Bills of Quantities

  • Assist in the preparation of tenders and procurement of subcontractors and suppliers

  • Manage subcontractor accounts and assess interim payments

  • Support cost control and project reporting throughout project lifecycle

  • Liaise closely with the design, project management, and site teams to ensure financial accuracy

  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of commercial processes and systems

  • Report directly to the Senior QS and Commercial Manager

Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

  • Ideally 2 3 years post-degree experience within a main contractor, D&B, or similar environment

  • Strong measurement and take-off skills (essential)

  • Ability to work independently with a proactive, self-motivated approach

  • Good understanding of construction contracts and procurement routes

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Competent with Microsoft Excel and QS software packages
