Job Description
FRA/Site Inspector
Desirable experience includes:

Conducting site visits and preparing site inspection or technical reports

Carrying out fire risk assessments (FRAs)
-
Preparing Fire Risk Appraisals of External Walls (FRAEWs) in accordance with PAS 9980
-
Strong understanding of building construction and design, particularly in high-rise residential developments
-
Providing clear, detailed advice on fire safety matters across various building types
-
Attending client and design team meetings to support compliance with Building Regulations, using guidance such as Approved Document B, BS 9999, and BS 9991
-
Supporting clients in meeting their responsibilities under the Building Safety Act and related legislation
-
Experience working in a consultancy environment
Desirable Skills
-
Degree or equivalent qualification in Fire Engineering or a related discipline
-
Background in construction (e.g. clerk of works, surveying)
-
Familiarity with PAS 9980 methodology
-
Experience reviewing technical documentation, including drawings, elevations, and design details
-
Working knowledge of the Building Safety Act
-
Understanding of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order
Memberships
-
Membership of, or working towards membership with, the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) or a similar professional body
