Design Manager

4Site Recruitment are working with a leading main contractor delivering major commercial and mixed-use projects across London. They are seeking an experienced Design Manager to take ownership of design coordination and management on complex, high-value schemes. This role will suit someone coming from a Tier 1 main contractor background, used to working on large-scale projects with demanding design and technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee design development from pre-construction through to delivery.
• Coordinate consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Manage design risk and ensure buildability throughout project stages.
• Liaise with project stakeholders to resolve technical issues efficiently.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Design Manager with a recognised Tier 1 contractor.
• Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction standards.
• Track record of delivering projects £50m+ in value.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
