Job Description

Estimator - Bucks - To 85k + package

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estimator to join a successful team developing bespoke, high-end residential properties across Surrey, Berkshire, and Buckinghamshire. This role is based at our clients Buckinghamshire office.

About the Estimator role

  • Prepare financial feasibility budgets to support land appraisals.
  • Assist the land team with accurate, up-to-date cost information.
  • Develop detailed budgets to support the construction team in cost/value monitoring.
  • Take off quantities from drawings, specifications, and other project documents.
  • Provide cost input during pre-contract phases to support efficient design and construction methods.
  • Support the sales team with cost advice and assist surveyors with estimates for variations.
  • Prepare cost and value reconciliations, forecasts, and budgets within agreed parameters.
  • Stay current with and apply relevant regulations, including building codes, HSE guidelines, and warranty requirements.

About you

  • Proven experience as an Estimator, ideally with a residential housebuilder.
  • Strong ability to review drawings and extract accurate quantity take-offs.
  • Skilled in budget preparation and providing reliable cost guidance.
  • Solid understanding of construction methods and materials.
  • Proactive in monitoring and applying current market rates for trades and materials.
  • Proficient with Excel and digital measuring tools (experience with Bluebeam is a plus).
  • High level of numeracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team player.
