Civils-biased Site Manager to oversee the construction of a new
HV Substation in Plymouth.This role will see you manage the
civil engineering elements of the project - including groundworks, drainage, reinforced concrete, foundations, and structural/enabling works - ensuring delivery is safe, compliant, and on programme. You'll take responsibility for site operations while working closely with the electrical and HV teams to achieve seamless project completion.
Essential Qualifications & Competencies - National Grid Competent Person - NSI 6 & 8 (Full).
- Previous TP137 or SR163 appointment.
- SMSTS.
- IOSH Environmental (or equivalent).
- Health & Safety Guide 47 qualification.
- First Aid - full 3 day certificate.
- Minimum 5 years' Site Management experience on HV substation projects.
- Strong civils knowledge (earthworks, drainage, reinforced concrete, foundations, structures).
Desirable Skills & Experience - Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor certification.
- Knowledge of managing impressed voltages.
- Broad understanding of substation equipment from multiple OEMs.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage subcontractors.
- Strong track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Contract Details - Duration: 12-18 months (long-term project).
- Engagement: CIS or Ltd Company (Outside IR35).
- Location: Plymouth - HV Substation project.
