Planner

We re working with one of the UK s leading Tier 1 contractors to find an experienced Construction Planner to join their team in Durham. With a strong pipeline of major projects across infrastructure, civil engineering, and build sectors, this is a great opportunity to be part of a high-performing planning team delivering complex, high-value schemes.

The Role:
You ll play a key role in the successful delivery of projects across the region supporting tenders, building detailed programmes, and working closely with project teams on live sites. The ideal candidate will be confident producing and managing project plans from pre-construction through to completion, using industry-standard software such as Primavera P6 or Asta Powerproject.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain detailed construction programmes
• Support pre-construction and tender teams with planning input
• Work with site and commercial teams to monitor progress and mitigate delays
• Carry out site visits to assess progress and update programmes
• Provide regular reports and updates to project stakeholders

What We re Looking For:

• Proven experience in a planning role within a Tier 1 or large main contractor
• Strong understanding of construction methods and sequencing
• Proficiency in planning software (Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject or similar)
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders
• Background in civil engineering or general construction projects
