Job Title: HVAC Engineer

Location: Felling, Newcastle upon Tyne

Salary: 37,500 per annum

Contract: AkzoNobel

Overview: We're looking for a skilled HVAC Engineer to join our team supporting the AkzoNobel site in Felling. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining HVAC systems and supporting wider building services including electrical, mechanical, and fabric elements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform planned and reactive maintenance on HVAC equipment

• Maintain plant and services for optimal performance

• Record work accurately using BMS and CMMS systems

• Supervise subcontractors and ensure compliance with safety standards

• Support electrical installations and PPM tasks (PAT testing, emergency lighting)

• Participate in a fortnightly backshift pattern and emergency call-out rota

• Assist with general maintenance and stores management

Requirements:

• ONC in HVAC or equivalent

• City & Guilds 6087 Level 2 & 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning

• City & Guilds 2078 Safe Handling of Refrigerants

• Recognised apprenticeship

• Strong diagnostic and communication skills

• Experience with BMS controls, critical cooling, and permit-to-work systems
