Actual costs are monitored and assessed against baseline, value of work done, solution cost progress, affordability challenges and final outturn calculations, reporting either weekly or otherwise as agreed with the Commercial Manager whilst observing the project's governance. Ensure all efficiencies are reflected in reporting tools provided to Client's timeline. Provide reports on actual costs vs. estimate & identifying underlying reasons for any variance & resolutions, in particular highlight, challenge & resolve variance to latest plans. Records of deliveries (GRN's) are undertaken in a timely manner. Ensure that all team members understand the contractual arrangements. Work with the integrated delivery team to assist with project and programme risk mitigation plans are considered, put in place and administered. Ensure that the Contract is properly administered including timely issue of Early Warnings, Contractual Notices, Owner Controlled Insurance Policy (OCIP) etc. Ensure that the MQS is kept informed of all relevant commercial issues including contract correspondence and preparing responses where appropriate. Any withheld, disputed, inadmissible or disallowed costs are identified and reported to the MQS. Ensure that all team members understand the contractual arrangements in place. This is a unique opportunity to join a market leading company covering a range of sectors that incorporate energy, petrochemical, marine, infrastructure, logistics and more. The role will be supervising a new expansion of site infrastructure during an exciting period of growth. The contract is c.12 months, while our client is looking for the Construction Supervisor to start in early September. Role & Responsibilities • The Construction Supervisor will be involved initially in the demolition of the exiting site before then overseeing the construction of the new facility. • Acting as a “quality manager” who tests and inspects the works for compliance with the contract, and who manages the defects process so as to protect the Client’s interests. • Witness all key demolition procedures for compliance with contract documents. • Inspect the record drawings provided by the Contractor and ensure that they do not differ from the agreed plans. • Liaise with the Contractor and designers to establish tests and inspections to be carried out in accordance with Scope as part of the Quality Management System and acceptance procedures. • Keep records of tests, inspections and acceptances for inclusion in the Health & Safety File. • Prepare regular reports outlining inspections undertaken/planned, defects raised/outstanding/accepted, independent tests required/undertaken with an updated R/A/G status against each item. • Report on whether the Contractor is closing out defects in accordance with the contractual timeframes. • Provide Defect Notification, Defects Register, Tests and Inspection Record Sheet and Register and Defects Certificate templates in accordance with NEC 3 contract for agreement with the PM prior to deploying. • Comply with all requirements of Clause 40 -45 inclusive of the NEC3 Contract (including any amendments to the Contract). • Attend Risk Reduction meetings. • Prepare a monthly Supervisors report on all Quality aspects of the project. • Attend Monthly Progress Meetings facilitated by the PM and report on Quality Issues with the Contractor and project team in attendance. • Undertake a final inspection prior to the end of the Defects Period and identify any and all remaining defects to be corrected and only once correct to the satisfaction of the Supervisor • Issue the Defects Certificate once all items notified have been resolved. • Ensure that issues relating to HSE are effectively managed, in line with the clients’ policies. • Generation of project progress reports and final reports to management and stakeholders. PROJECT MANAGER (SITE BASED) - STRUCTURAL STEELWORK / POWERSTATION CONTRACT £280.00 - £350.00 per day (6 months) STR's client is a leading Structural Steelwork Fabricator, with great heritage and a proven track record of delivering structural steelwork and associated building materials to the the Petrochem/Nuclear industries. Due to continued growth there is an opening for a site-based Project Manager to join the business. This is a site based role, working within a NAECI governed powerstation, converting from coal-fired to Biomass. MAIN DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES - Manage day to day operational aspects of the project - Daily/weekly planning and monitoring against master programme of works, utilising MS Project. - Sub-contract and direct labour control and management - Maintain site records, in accordance with company procedure and the Quality Assurance programme - Maintain the highest levels of Health and Safety QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE CSCS Card, SMSTS and First Aid. Appointed Person qualification would also be a distinct advantage. Experience of working in within the structural steel industry is essential, and you will have worked worked under the blue book/Naeci agreement.
