With a strong commitment to safety, quality and innovation, they are expanding their pre-contract team and seeking a skilled Senior Estimator to play a key role in their tendering and budgeting processes. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking contractor where your expertise will directly influence project success and business growth. This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Derby office. Your new role As Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing and submitting competitive tenders and budgets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards and client requirements. You'll work closely with internal departments, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather essential data, assess project costs, and support the delivery of high-quality bids. You'll also supervise junior staff and contribute to their development. Key responsibilities include: Preparing detailed tenders and estimates in line with company procedures Conducting site visits to assess conditions and gather relevant data Liaising with clients, designers, and internal teams to understand project requirements Obtaining quotations from subcontractors and suppliers Ensuring compliance with health & safety legislation and company policies Supporting contract handovers and maintaining quality control throughout the estimating process Promoting positive client relationships and representing the company professionally. What you'll need to succeed In order to be successful, you will bring: Proven experience in estimating within the civil engineering industry Sound understanding of tendering processes and cost analysis Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement Full UK driving licence.
