About the Role We re looking for an experienced Civil Supervisor / Working Foreman to join our clients team on a range of civil engineering projects in the Bristol area. This hands-on role involves overseeing site operations, leading teams on the ground, and ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Key Responsibilities Supervise and work alongside site operatives on civils projects, including earthworks, drainage, foundations, and road construction . Maintain daily site records, ensure adherence to drawings and specifications. Coordinate labour, plant, and materials to keep progress on track. Conduct toolbox talks , safety briefings, and ensure health & safety compliance at all times. Liaise with site management, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve issues and maintain smooth site operations. Take an active role in achieving quality and productivity targets. Requirements Proven experience as a Working Foreman or Site Supervisor on civil engineering or groundworks projects. Strong knowledge of drainage, earthworks, kerbing, and concrete works . Valid CSCS card (Gold or above preferred). SSSTS or SMSTS certification. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Full UK driving licence.

Based in Gloucester, this role involves maintaining exceptional safety standards across multiple active sites - from Gloucester to Somerset, Swindon, and Cardiff. There is opportunity to advance in this position. Key Responsibilities Manage all aspects of health, safety, and environmental compliance on groundwork projects. Partner with main contractors and project teams to ensure adherence to HSE regulations. Carry out site inspections, audits, and accident/incident investigations. Lead the creation and delivery of risk assessments, method statements, and safety management plans. Foster a strong safety culture through training, mentoring, and on-site guidance. Present safety performance reports and improvement strategies to senior leadership. Work alongside and be mentored by the Head of Health & Safety, preparing for succession into that role. About You Proven track record as a Senior HSE Advisor/Health & Safety Manager in groundwork, civil engineering, or construction environments. Excellent understanding of CDM regulations, HSE standards, and industry best practice. Skilled at communicating and building relationships with contractors and clients. Qualified with NEBOSH or IOSH (or equivalent certification). Confident, approachable, and capable of positively influencing teams on site.
