Mechanical Project Manager required for UK-leading Pharmaceutical D&B Contractor Due to a substantial increase in workload, one of the UK's leading Pharmaceutical D&B Contractor's are looking to recruit a Mechanical Project Manager to join their busy Projects department. Reporting directly to the Projects Director you will be responsible for responsible for and to achieve targets on individual projects from the stage where the Business is awarded the contract through to completion in terms of the quality of its design, construction and technical performance, client satisfaction and financial results. You will be working on projects from the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector, including clean rooms, research laboratories, internationally recognized research facilities at the worlds leading universities, hospitals and pharmacies. Projects will be based throughout the UK. Duties and Responsibilities On individual projects to establish, agree and provide for the design of structures, finishes, air conditioning, filtration systems, furniture, electrical and mechanical services and specialist installations. To establish and agree a project programme with the Project Manager that will comply with all contractual obligations and satisfy the clients requirements. To procure all materials and sub-contract packages from both internal and external suppliers in a timely fashion and to agreed budgets. To monitor and ensure that the quality of work and materials are appropriate and to the clients satisfaction. T To be responsible for the control and monitoring of job costs against project budgets by means of company cost control procedures. To be responsible for ensuring that claims and invoices are prepared. To monitor and agree cost variations with the Projects Manager and to negotiate with the clients representative. To report to the Projects Manager through the company's operational and reporting procedures on progress with individual project programmes. To complete Project Review documentation and provide both positive and negative feedback on all aspects of project performance for the purpose of improving future standards. To assist as requested with technical, commercial and documentary developments. To be conversant with legislative requirements and developments. To co-operate with other parts of the Business and take advantage of the synergistic opportunities that exist in the organisation. To be conversant with an ensure that the jobholders actions and area of control comply with the Company's health and safety policy.

As a result of new business wins, they now require an experienced construction site supervisor to work with the projects team directly on a number of refurbishments in the Cambridge area. As part of the 'front line' point of contact with the Client you will need to be customer focused, non-confrontational and be able to establish good working relationships, with the ability to conduct business meetings in the most professional manner. Responsibilities Ensuring that method statements & risk assessments are produced, reviewed & submitted for all installations. Strive to achieve Zero Lost Time Accidents on site. Prepare / review COSHH assessments. The company often fulfill the role of Principal Contractor and therefore you will provide support to the Site Manager in sharing the responsibility for the Health and Safety on site. Senior Quantity Surveyor - £50k to £55k Construction, HVAC, Mechanical and Electrical Greater Manchester / Lancashire My client works with world-leading organisations in the pharmaceutical, life science and healthcare sectors to create cutting-edge cleanrooms, laboratories and other sophisticated environments. Their specialist services encompass consultancy, design, construction, commissioning and validation. Responsibilities This role covers a range of different commercial arrangements including lump sum work, alliance & collaborative contracts and term agreements and you should be familiar with each of these arrangements. You must also have good knowledge and understanding of JCT and NEC building contracts. Although your prime functions are the commercial management of projects together with input into the development of commercial practices within the organisation your support may also be required in tendering projects and therefore Tendering / Estimating is also included within your job description. However in essence your role is to closely identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risk, control / monitor all commercial aspects of the projects most importantly to maximise our profitability whilst managing the cashflow. Provide a wide range of commercial support to alliance / collaborative projects including the preparation of monthly cost reports, management of change control etc. Prepare and monitor risk analysis schedules and provide input into strategies to mitigate these risks during the course of the work. Prepare, monitor and report on KPI's (Key Performance Indicators). Develop benchmarking information, primarily for HVAC and Fit Out works to demonstrate value for money. Working in close liaison with the Project Manager you will monitor costs on projects and prepare monthly financial forecasts with full reconciliation against cost incurred, committed cost, future cost and variations. Review and provide commercial advice on Terms and Conditions for tenders and contracts to highlight any associated risks. Compile enquiry documents for competitive bidding Analyse sub-contractors tender returns, compile tender analysis report Determine preliminary allowances including design and staff costs against programme Prepare cost schedules using schedules of rates Experience A degree in Quantity Surveying is preferred but minimum qualifications are HNC in Quantity Surveying/ Building Services or Building Studies/Construction.
