Job Purpose: This role is responsible for overseeing and managing all phases of our customer projects, from inception to completion and handover, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning : develop project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation. Team Leadership : lead and manage cross-functional teams, ensuring effective collaboration among engineers, designers, contractors, and stakeholders. Budget Management : prepare and manage project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking expenses with the operations department, and ensuring financial objectives are met. Scheduling : create and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all project phases and milestones. Quality Assurance : implement quality control processes to ensue all deliverables meet industry standards and customer expectations. Regulatory Compliance : ensure all projects comply with industry regulations, along with safety standards. Risk Management : identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to address challenges that may arise. Stakeholder Management : serve as the primary point of contact for customers, internal and external stakeholders, and regulatory agencies, providing regular updates on project progress. Customer Service : act as an ambassador for Switch On Power when interacting with external and internal stakeholders, providing excellent customer service. Problem Solving : address and resolve issues that arise during the project lifecycle, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines. Documentation : maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, reports, and correspondence, for reference and compliance. Post-Project Evaluation : conduct evaluations of project outcomes, assessing successes and areas for improvement for future projects. Other Activities : provide onsite support when required, directed by the Head of Programmes, Commissioning Engineer or Senior Leadership. Education ONC/OND or Graduate in Project Management, Building, Engineering or Architecture Professional Qualification in Engineering, Construction or Project Management A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is usually required. Experience Proven successful experience overseeing the delivery of electrical infrastructure (ICP/HV/LV) work from inception to completion. Thorough understanding of the DNO/ICP delivery process with good knowledge and experience managing project lifecycles ( can we state cost size/length of time for project) Competent in Project Management Software Technical Skills Knowledge of HV/LV Knowledge of engineering construction aspects of delivering Working knowledge of contracts NEC3 and/or ICP Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and relevant project management software. Project Management Qualification e.g. Prince 2 Other Qualifications A full UK driving licence, held for at least 12 months Good oral and written English proficiency Safety training to ISOH or NEBOSH for managers SMSTS

We are looking for a Gas Engineer role in Inverness location for one of our facilities management client. The Gas Engineer will provide commercial gas, heating, combustion and building services engineering maintenance to a variety of client properties throughout the designated region. This will include commercial, domestic gas and HVAC systems, bias fault finding, repairs, servicing, and installation. Qualifications Role is Commercial Gas so applicants must have the following qualifications: Commercial Gas Qualifications: Commercial Core Safety: COCN1 or CODNC1, TPCP1A, ICPN1, CORT1, CIGA1 AND Domestic Core Gas Qualifications: CCN1, CENWAT1, CPA1, AND City & Guilds / NVQ level 2/3 in Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical or related Mechanical engineering discipline. Gas Safe Registered IPAF / PASMA Full UK Driving License. Applicants with electrical qualifications will be preferred. Responsibilities Responsibility for commercial combustion, heating and HVAC bias PPM, proactive and reactive works issued through the helpdesk within set time frames so that the customer expectations are exceeded. Responsibility for other types of building services maintenance to include fabric, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical and related tas ks. To provide callout response for the client as detailed on the callout rota. Maintain the cleanliness of plant rooms, workshops, and storage areas. To undertake new installations, major and minor repair works to clients gas/heating systems. Diagnose and repair faults on systems and plant including basic electrical fault finding. To undertake contractor control duties on behalf of the client, including monitoring of contractors and their workmanship, so that relevant standards are met. Issue of Permits to Work. Ensure that all gas/heating equipment within scope operates to specified performance criteria. Ensure equipment and surrounding area conforms to agreed company/industry standards. To provide a professional service and represent the company in a way which ensures customer satisfaction. To evaluate performance and ensure the proper servicing and maintenance of equipment under contract to the company is carried out. To take a pro-active approach to client liaison and ensure that concerns are dealt with or relayed to management, as necessary. To be always fully aware of contractual requirements and customer needs. To ensure that administration requirements are actioned on time and all necessary documents / records are maintained accurately. Grid Connections Manager Location: Midlands or North UK (Hybrid with Site Travel) Employment Type: Permanent About the Company A leading EPC contractor specialising in renewable energy infrastructure across the UK. With several large-scale solar and BESS projects underway, the business is rapidly expanding and seeking an experienced Grid Connections professional to strengthen their in-house electrical and design team. The Role The Grid Connections Manager will take ownership of all activities relating to grid connection delivery across multiple renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance, coordination, and technical accuracy from design through to energisation. You will act as the key interface between the business, DNOs, IDNOs, and National Grid, managing all aspects of the connection process and supporting the design and commissioning teams. Key Responsibilities Manage the full grid connection process for solar PV and BESS projects from application to energisation. Liaise with DNOs, IDNOs, TSOs, and ICPs to ensure all technical, regulatory, and commercial requirements are met. Review, interpret, and negotiate connection offers, G99 submissions, and contestable/non-contestable scopes. Coordinate with design engineers to ensure electrical designs meet grid and system specifications (kV). Oversee technical documentation including SLDs, protection settings, and SCADA integration. Support the wider project delivery team with grid-related risk assessments, scheduling, and technical support. Manage stakeholder relationships, including clients, consultants, and statutory bodies. Ensure compliance with CDM, UK Power Networks, and National Grid standards. Requirements Electrical Engineering background (Degree or HNC/HND level preferred). Proven experience managing grid connection activities within the renewable energy or power generation sector. Strong understanding of DNO/IDNO processes, regulations, and connection standards (G99, G5/5, ENA standards). Experience working directly with generation assets (solar, BESS, wind, or similar). Competent with electrical design fundamentals, including HV/MV systems. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple connection projects simultaneously. UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites when required. Desirable Experience working for or alongside a DNO, ICP, or EPC. Working knowledge of grid connection modelling and software tools. Chartered Engineer status (or working towards).
