Our planning team focuses on strategic planning projects, mainly planning applications and land promotions for residential development, and we work closely alongside our colleagues in development economics, design and heritage. The opportunity Our whole team are vital in helping to achieve our ambitions, helping to lead projects, build client relations and champion the Marrons brand. As a Planner, Senior Planner or Associate Director you will continue to develop your career working collaboratively with colleagues within our multi-disciplinary consultancy, alongside having ample opportunities to build client relationships and start developing your own workload. You will be involved in projects from the outside, working closely with colleagues, clients and other consultants, to manage schemes from initial advice and early design stages, right through to achieving consent and discharge of conditions and planning obligations. There will be opportunities to support and be actively involved in Planning Appeals and Local Plan Examinations. We act on behalf of major house builders and developers, manufacturers and investment companies, blue chip companies and land promoters, in addition to land and property owners, retailers, local authorities and private individuals across the United Kingdom. We co-ordinate, project manage and audit planning applications, including EIA development, urban regeneration schemes, urban extensions, site allocation and promotions and strategic planning, housing land supply advice and commercial/retail planning expertise. We provide expert advice and guidance to our clients throughout all stages of the planning process and have considerable experience and knowledge of negotiating with local planning authorities, resolving issues, and delivering planning permissions. Your day to day could sometimes involve: To produce and manage prequalification submissions to the required standards and on time. Development of estimate plans and solutions and to lead client estimating activities where required. Utilise different and appropriate estimating techniques in development of estimates for validation, benchmarking or independent analysis. Methods of determining time, cost and quality relationships and their influence on accuracy of the total estimate. Ensure that all estimates are reviewed, approved and documented or presented. However no two days are the same, we are a flexible team that support each other's projects as well as getting involved with wider business activities and we believe that variety is key to your development. Who we're looking for Security Cleared or ability to gain Security Clearance Relevant experience in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management, experience in the Nuclear / Civil engineering / Engineering (Including Service Contracting) sectors is desired but not essential. Broad spectrum of technical knowledge relating to Procurement, Supply Chain, Cost and Commercial Management - ideally both pre and post contract. Experience of standard forms of contract, including the NEC suite, and Public Contract Regulations 2015 would be beneficial, and candidates personal and communication skills, ambition, drive and energy will be considered equally important to be successful. Ideally HNC, HND or Degree qualified in a Quantity Surveying / Cost Management, Construction Law, or similar / relevant discipline, or in some case applicants with an alternative background (e.g.: Engineering) may be considered. Professional qualifications and/or membership of the RICS, CIOB, CICES, CIPS or other relevant Chartered Institute are desirable, and will be supported if not already attained.
