You will have gained experience within a developer, main contractor, or subcontractor environment and be confident operating across both pre- and post-contract stages. This includes preparing cost plans and estimates, measurement for bills of quantities, tendering and procurement, value engineering, tender reporting, interim valuations, and final accounts. A broad knowledge of construction industry processes, procedures, and best practice is essential, along with solid technical understanding of building materials, construction techniques, and building systems. You will be comfortable working with financial and reporting tools and be fully computer literate, with strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, and related software. A full, clean driving licence is also required. They are looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on at the beginning of a new build/refurbishment commercial scheme with a contract value of circa £700 million. Reporting to the Construction Director your role will be to provide a full range of cost control and financial reporting duties on all aspects of construction work undertaken. Duties include : " Attend pre-design meetings to advise on all areas that have cost implication " Check all contract drawings to identify errors, omissions, anomalies, and areas where unnecessary costs may arise. Prepare all tender documentation and letters, including carrying out preliminary checks on subcontractors. " Prepare Site Budget - carry out analysis of quotations resulting from tender enquiry; assesses Site Staff levels and build programmes with the Construction Director to ascertain preliminary costs; collates all cost information and prepares budget for approval " Arrange and adjudicate Pre-site start meeting and prepares stage payment schedule to assist in the financing of the works.
