Job Title: Asset Engineer - Geotechnical Assets Contract: 6 months (with potential extension) Location: North West England - Manchester, Liverpool, Warrington, or nearby Rate: 427/day (umbrella) Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Asset Engineer to manage geotechnical (earthwork) assets across the North West Route. The role includes planning and completing Earthwork Examinations to NR-L3-CIV-065 standards, supporting remedial works, and implementing risk mitigation. This is a safety-critical role from day one (PTS/IWA/COSS). Key Responsibilities Plan and undertake Earthwork Examinations, including desk-based site studies. Liaise with access teams and complete Safe Work Packs. Conduct on-site examinations and respond to feedback. Maintain accurate records and geotechnical asset data. Ensure compliance with company policies and safe systems of work. Essential Requirements COSS/IWA competency to work on the operational railway. Level 3 assessed in Soil Slope (GEO-I-S) and Rock Slope (GEO-I-R) examinations. Experience with JBA Database, GizMapp, and CIV/065 standard reporting. Knowledge of railway safe systems of work and network geography. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and communication skills.
