A well-established main contractor is seeking an Intermediate M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a busy and expanding commercial team. The role will involve tendering MEPH packages on new projects and supporting the management of sub-contractor variation accounts. The position will be based either from a central London office (Oxford Street area) or on live sites, predominantly within Zone 1. The contractor delivers projects primarily across central London, operating in a range of sectors including CAT A & B office fit-outs, high-end residential schemes, education, hotels and leisure, largely for private clients. Projects are typically procured via negotiated or two-stage routes, enabling early and effective procurement of M&E services to ensure a fully coordinated, high-quality end product. Combined MEPH package values generally range from 3m to 15m. Operating as a principal contractor, the business undertakes new builds, refurbishments, remodelling works and complex interior fit-outs. It has built a strong reputation for delivering technically challenging schemes through close collaboration with leading consultants and clients. This is underpinned by long-term relationships, a hands-on approach to project ownership, and an uncompromising focus on quality and delivery. Interviews are taking place immediately for a permanent position, with the successful candidate either joining newly secured projects or becoming part of an existing project team to manage live variation accounts. Commissioning Manager The client are a leading enterprise level life safety and security integrator working on large scale project throughout the UK & Europe The Role This role will oversee the commissioning of Life Safety, Fire Detection, Fire Suppression, Sprinkler, Security, and Data Infrastructure systems specifically within large-scale Industrial, Commercial, Residential and Data Centre environments. The Commissioning Manager will provide technical leadership, challenge design information, manage multidiscipline commissioning teams, and ensure all systems are integrated, validated, and handed over in accordance with all standards, legislation, project specific standards and client timescales. Periodically update the costs through the design development phase of the project to issue to client and clients professional team. Quickly flag internally errors in the design or potential cost increases. Sanity check the design to ensure buildability. Building Services (MEP&S) Design Manage the production and coordination of the MEP&S design. Evaluate the technical aspects of the Project. Focus on competitive design and coordination with other trades e.g. ceilings and partitions. Manage design coordination with Landlord Incumbent Contractors (Fire Alarm/Sprinklers) and Client Direct Suppliers (AV/Furniture). Supply Chain Management including Subconsultants Manage the Supply Chain in the preparation of the CSA. Special focus on the Subcontractors with design responsibility; MEP and Sprinklers, Acoustics, Building Services, Fire, etc. Provide assessment of the performance of Supply Chain. Building Control Liaison with Building Control to ensure early Plan Check has been undertaken. Ensure occupancy compliance with regards to Building Limiting Factors: Fresh Air Provision, Toilet Provisions and Means of Escape. To be able to read and understand the buildings Fire Strategy document. Ensure initial notice issued Landlord, Statutory Authorities, 3rd Party Requirements, Incumbents Liaise with and understand requirements of Landlords and Fit Out Guides. Manage any Statutory Authority including Power (e.g. UKPN), Comms (e.g. Colt), Planning Permission, Listed Building Consent and Advertising Consents. Prepare, negotiate and agree the Licences to Alter (LTA) with the Landlord / Landlord Professional Team. Programme, Risk and Procurement Schedules Prepare a PreConstruction Programme. Manage Client requirements in respect of Client's CDM responsibilities Presentation Prepare inputs into the Pitch Document. This role is for a Mechanical Building Services Estimator for an established mechanical services company. Currently the majority of the work undertaken is new residential fit out, specialising in heating, air-conditioning, ventilation, hot and cold water services, drainage, sprinklers and gas supplies. Apartments, offices schools, hotels, medical centres and other project types are also within the project portfolio. Projects range in value from £200K to £4M. Both traditional tendering from consultants drawings and specifications and some in house design and build projects are tendered. Main Duties: * Prepare and submit tenders utilising Enterprise Estimating Software. * Analyse drawings, specifications and other documentation to prepare tenders. * Identify and provide alternative design proposals, solutions and value engineering options. * Liaise with internal and external engineers, consultants and subcontractors to construct and formulate tenders. * Establish and maintain tendering processes and conduct negotiations. * Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors. * Support and encourage other team members. * Monitor targets and workflow. * Control and organise tender documentation. * Perform other duties at management’s discretion. The candidate is require to have previous experience in this role and duties will include; * Delivering two and three dimensional design drawings. * Delivering models of Fire Protection systems including sprinklers, wet/dry risers, gaseous fire suppression and water mist systems in accordance with relevant standards and codes as published by British Standards, the Loss Prevention Council and NFPA.
