Electrical Mates / Improvers Long Term Project (Aldermaston) Location: Aldermaston, Berkshire Pay Rate: £24.00 per hour (CIS) Hours: 07:15AM 4:45PM (9.5 hours paid per day, approx. 45 hours per week) Duration: Ongoing Project expected to run until December 2026 Job Description We are currently recruiting for a large number of Electrical Mates and Improvers to join a major long-term refurbishment project in Aldermaston, Berkshire. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their electrical skills and gain experience working alongside a team of experienced, qualified electricians on a secure, high-profile site. The project involves the complete refurbishment of two large office buildings within a major facility. The work is expected to continue until December 2026, providing excellent job security and steady hours for reliable workers. Key Responsibilities Assisting electricians with the installation of cable management systems (tray, basket, conduit, trunking, etc.) Supporting with the installation and termination of armoured and multicore cabling Helping with first and second fix activities across two large commercial buildings Carrying materials, keeping work areas tidy, and following instructions from site supervisors Maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times Working efficiently as part of a larger on-site electrical team Requirements To be considered for this role, candidates must have: A valid ECS or CSCS Card City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent qualification) Previous experience as an Electrical Mate or Improver on commercial or industrial projects No spent or unspent criminal convictions (clean DBS required) Willingness to complete: Full site medical assessment Drugs & Alcohol test DBS background check (Clearance process typically takes 2 4 weeks) What s on Offer Competitive pay rate of £24.00 per hour (CIS) Long-term, consistent work project running until December 2026 Full-time hours (approx. 45 hours per week) Excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience alongside qualified electricians Secure, well-organised working environment with all tools and PPE standards maintained How to Apply If you re interested and meet the requirements above, please apply with your up-to-date CV.
