Due to a significant award, they now have a requirement for a Site Engineer from a main construction contractor background to get involved in a recent £multi-million Design and Build award in the Elgin area Experience of Commercial, retail, healthcare, education, refurbishment and/or new build Taking into account the geographic location of the project a competitive subsistence allowance is also on offer if required Prospects are fantastic and the starting salary is very competitive. Significant site experience in setting out concrete frames, groundworks, foundations, steelwork etc. Key Function of the Role: Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be required to accurately set out the works in accordance with the drawings and ensure they are constructed in accordance with the specification. The Key Requirements: * Set out the works using appropriate instruments to an acceptable level of accuracy having regard to the drawing, specification and site instructions; * check the accuracy of the setting out at all stages of construction; * provide measurement data to the Quantity Surveyor; * maintain records of work done and provide sketches/information from drawings and specifications for the use by the Foremen and Operatives. * understand and apply relevant information to make appropriate decisions which reflect key priorities and requirements; * help others providing them with advice and feedback; * manage own and others time to meet all project requirement and provide the safest possible working environment; * monitor and audit the quality of own and others' work and * understand the procedures, processes and legislation required. The successful candidate will have: * HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering (desirable); * a valid CSCS card and have completed SMSTS * previous experience of working on a wide range of construction projects including build, highways, drainage, bridges, groundworks, structures and general construction projects; * 3 years' experience in Engineering; * a proven track record of completing large construction/civil engineering projects on schedule and within budget; * practical experience of managing and setting sub-contractors to work; * experience of computer programmes including CAD and Microsoft Office; * successful candidates will have an eye for detail and for quality of build * a full UK driving licence
