R ole Overview We are seeking an experienced Steel Erecting Supervisor with a proven background in power station and heavy industrial environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising steel erection and associated works, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality installation of structural steel and pipework supports in line with project requirements, engineering specifications, and health & safety standards. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate site teams involved in structural steel erection and heavy industrial pipework support installations. Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Review and interpret drawings, RAMS, and technical specifications to plan daily activities. Liaise with project engineers, planners, and subcontractors to align steel erection with overall construction programme. Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading principal contractor in the Energy from Waste sector who are looking to recruit a Commissioning Shift Operator on a contract basis. Key skills required for the Commissioning Shift Operator Ensures works within area of responsibility are executed in accordance with contract requirements, and conform with project time, budget and Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) requirements Supports the commissioning team in all mechanical issues (filter cleaning and exchange, greasing, dismount pumps, replenish consumables etc.) Reports any variations and issues to the Commissioning Manager Maintains all mechanical tools in a clean state and ready to use and cleans the equipment of the plant Liaises and coordinates with other project team members, in particular the Commissioning Manager, Commissioning Lead Engineers and shift team leaders.
