The contract currently delivers high standards of H&S. Due to increasing workloads and expansion of delivery type we need to enhance the SHEQW delivery even further.
Reporting directly to the Senior SHEQW Manager you will ensure the delivery of SHEQW objectives and compliance with company and Thames Water’s specifications and procedures.
As a Senior SHEQ Advisor you would actively collaborate in all contract SHEQW geographical areas to assist with fulfilment of SHEQW team objectives. You will provide assistance and guidance to operational, management teams. The client on SHEQW performance and provide root cause analysis to aid relevant coaching and feedback.
You will be able to provide accurate, current HSE advice and support to the contract to ensure adherence to requirements, regulatory standards, and current legislation. You will assist in the production of operational documentation – RAMS, CPP, etc . Considering how risks could be reduced and advising on a range of key activities such as confined spaces, work at height, occupational health, COSHH etc.
You will undertake regular inspections/audits of operational sites. This is to ensure compliance with policies, procedures and that contract processes are being properly implemented (out of hours whenever necessary). You will provide effective analysis to aid relevant feedback and coaching.
You will prioritise, investigate and report on all accidents and incidents defining to root causes and ensure actions are completed to prevent re-occurrence. Ensuring that learning points are fed into SHEQ directorate for continued improvement of policy, standards etc.
You will monitor and develop the HSE culture by driving our continuous improvement strategy programme. Identifying ways of ensuring all personnel are aware of the programme and are actively engaged with it. You will support SHEQ programmes as reasonably required to cover staffing needs, provide support and guidance.You will undertake any other duties reasonably requested to meet team and company objectives. As a Project Construction Manager your duties & responsibilities will include:
Resource Management:
Manage site resources to meet the successful delivery of the project including subcontractors and visiting support.
Assign staff and subcontractors to roles and responsibilities.
Liaise with Project Manager and Planning in relation to performance and reporting
Line Management:
Set goals and objectives, monitor and manage staff performance and development
Identify and maintain training needs for site staff and subcontractors.
Carry out and/or ensure prestart and toolbox talks are completed effectively.
Quality Management:
Produce and/or maintain Project Quality Plans including quality assurance and ensure compliance on site.
Manage record keeping
Implement approved construction procedures
Liaise with TW Coordinator and Construction Assurance
Contract Management:
Manage the safe day to day set up and delivery of your projects
Mange resources on site and control operations
Adhere to Client / MWS Standards and SHEQW requirements.
Ensure all documentation is completed and kept up to date. (RAMS, ITP’s, Waste Management, CPP, COSHH, Programme, notices, Comms etc.).
Day to day liaison with Project Manager, Sub-Contractors and Supply Chain
Monthly reporting requirements
Manage commercial success of project including EW, Instructions and change control.
Plan and manage handover and commissioning of new assets to Client
Liaise with Client for commissioning / handover support where necessary
SHEQW Management:
Implementation of SHEQW Policies
Day to day management of SHEQW Plan.
Report and/or investigate / support H&S incidents
Manage environmental management of sites including waste and carbon reduction
Ensure compliance of H&S Audits are completed
Customers:
Follow the detailed requirements of the Client Customer Plans
Maintain good working relationship with customers (customer focus)
Liaise with members of the public, local groups and external customers when appropriate and requested by the Client
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
Knowledge of relevant management techniques (resource management, monitoring and control, Cost Planning and Programme Management)
Financial awareness
H&S Company Policy, Construction Regulations and CDM, HSE at Work Act
Knowledge of contract law and appropriate Conditions of Contract
Construction (utility construction and installation, traffic management, etc.)
Awareness of NERS, WIRS and GIRS

Property Management Matters are the in- house property management services for Galliard Homes Limited and due to rapid growth, we are looking to appoint an experienced M&E Contracts Manager to join our team.
As the M&E Contracts Manager you’ll be responsible for overseeing the M&E aspects of 20 schemes within the PMM portfolio, taking over from handover and resolution of any problems post hand-over reporting to the Group Estates Manager and Head of Residential Management.
Responsibilities
Attend meetings with 3rd party suppliers and the construction/M&E team to track progress and ensure all M&E issues are covered
Identify and implement process improvements as part of the M&E facilities
Ensure O&M manuals are received and are complete
Retender, appoint and manage contracts as required with external M&E contractors
Ensure that PMM are aware of the latest received information
Undertake an asset verification review to confirm that all systems in place are compliant
Carry out quality inspections, snagging and the recording of defects
The Person
Previous experience of managing supplier contracts
Mechanical bias is preferred
Excellent communicator both written & verbal
Able to work autonomously
Able to build effective relationships with stakeholders and 3rd party suppliers
Previous experience of working on residential blocks is essential
Knowledge and experience of central district heat networks and cold water booster pumps
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (MS Word, Excel)
Mechanical or Electrical and/or Building Services Qualifications would be advantageous
Demonstrable knowledge in electrical and mechanical systems
Due to the nature of the role you may be required to deal with emergencies/contractors out of hours
Must be willing to travel to various sites across London due to the nature of the role
