Interim Surveying opportunity with a housing provider based in Somerset and the South West Your new company As a Surveyor you will be joining a reputable provider of housing based in the Somerset and South West region. Your new company are a provider of 4500 homes across the wider region, responsible for managing tenants and property maintenance. Your new role As a Surveyor you will be responsible for overseeing the turnaround of void properties across the region, supervising contractors and signing off works once completed. You'll also assist to schedule boiler and heating upgrade and replacement works, and will help to supervise and manage day to day repairs. What you'll need to succeed In order to succeed in this role you'll need to have experience as a surveyor within housing, ideally across reactive repairs and voids. You'll need to have excellent building knowledge, and an ability to identify defects and supervise contractors. Quantity Surveyor - £40,000 + benefits We are helping a small firm looking for a quantity surveyor to support the delivery of residential property developments. The ideal candidate will have experience of managing a project from inception through to completion. Key responsibilities: * Helping determine the requirements and undertaking feasibility studies. * Benchmarking requirements against similar projects. * Assessing and comparing options. * Helping define the project budget. * Checking developing designs against the project budget. * Assessing value for money. * Checking designs meet legal and quality standards. * Undertaking risk management and value management exercises. * Preparing cost plans, estimates and cash flow projections. * Advising on procurement strategy. * Advising on packaging.Preparing bills of quantities. * Preparing tender pricing documents. * Collating and issuing tender documentation. * Assessing tenders. * Estimating the cost of variations. * Preparing valuation statements for interim certificates.Assisting with the valuation of claims. * Preparing regular cost reports, including out-turn cost and cash flow. * Completing the final account.
