The Contracts Manager will be responsible for: * Managing 3 - 4 residential groundworks schemes roads sewers 278 * Management of men, materials and plant * Management of health and safety To be considered for the role you will have a background and track record working for a recognised groundworks contractor in a similar role. Working directly with a contractor (ideally in a highways setting although I will consider civils / groundworks experience) backed up with NEC forms of contract is essential. Experience of running a small team of commercial staff would be an advantage. My client is a leading national commercial grounds maintenance organisation. They have secured a number of large maintenance contracts and are looking to add to their growing team of Senior Estimators to be based in Essex.  Responsibilities:   Manage and develop existing estimating team Secure soft and hard landscaping works in London and South UK Liaise with Operations, Business Development and Commercial Senior Teams to achieve  budgeted sales of between £15M-£20M pa Working with a broad spectrum of clients from Main Contractors, Utilities, Housing Associations / Developers and Local Authorities. Works will include ECO, Small Construction, Soft & Hard Landscaping and Groundworks. Supporting construction and procurement managers, working with Business Development to deliver commercial and quality bids and tender processes. Report to Commercial Director and play key role in setting bids with senior managers and bid team directors.   Key Requirements: 5+ years commercial work experience as an Estimator in the Landscape or Construction industry. Proven track record of estimating systems, Conquest, Valesco or similar is desired although training will be given. Proven track record in the landscaping sector is desirable with knowledge of hard landscaping elements, experience in related construction or civils roles would be beneficial. Good negotiating and client management skills. Good commercial and contractual knowledge of common contracts used in the industry such as NEC and JCT Demonstrable leadership qualities. A willingness to travel if required. A desire to achieve personal goals and further develop the business.
