The role & about the client: On behalf of our client, ITS Construction Professionals South are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a reputable Residential Company based in Horsham. This client is a general residential company dealing with high volume housing. There is several QS roles available with this client ranging from Assistant QS to Senior level. Key Responsibilities: Maintain all cost control procedures working within the guidelines set out within the group policies and procedures Be aware and responsible for new materials or methods of construction and complete reports as followed. Prepare tenders and procure sub contractors, goods and materials. Analyse and report on costs and cash flow using the systems available Ensure all documents are completed on time to allow the construction to commence. Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency Monitor cost performance throughout project process Ensure compliance with contracts Track cost to completion forecasts and manage cash flow reporting Evaluate, negotiate and manage variations and change orders Ensure changes are reflected in financial reporting and cost plans Advise on cost implications of design and programme changes Manage final account preparation and agreement with contractors The ideal candidate will have/be: Relevant proven experience as a QS within the residential sector Experience working with high volume housing buiding Strong negotiation and analytical skills Well developed interpersonal skills and the ability to relate complex information in a simple way to a diverse range of people Strong numeracy and financial management skills Commercial awareness A clear understanding of HSE building regulations and all relevant legal requirements Software knowledge in Outlook, Excel, Word, Sage, Eque 2, Project.
