They operate in the new build student accomodation, highrise residential apartments and new build housing sectors. Starting on site in November, they have a prestigious new build scheme in Edinburgh; a £30m new build, 2 x blocks of concrete frame construction consisting of circa 250 student bed studios above a ground floor collection of retail and leisure units. The project will include a significant brickwork facade package to its external shell. This project will be live until completion and handover in 2022. The scheme is being overseeing by a strong team of long-standing operational and commercial staff including a Senior Project Manager, Site Managers and Engineer alongside technical and commercial teams. They now require an experienced Project Manager or Senior Site Manager to bring this project out of the ground as number 1 on site. The ideal QS will have previous experience working for a Sub-contractor, Main Contractor or House Builder with a minimum of 3 years' experience. The Quantity Surveyor will ideally be degree or HNC qualified in Quantity Surveying or a similar discipline, good communication skills will be needed along with the ability to work independiently or as part of the commercial team. Our client, who operate in the South and South East of England, was established over 20 years ago and has since carried out projects with build values that range from £50,000 to £4 million. Firm believers in the relevance of traditional brick and blockwork skills to modern architecture and construction, require a Quantity Surveyor with specific brickwork knowledge on a permanent basis. The role itself will be split between being office and site based, with you being responsible for generating your own work, pricing and looking after live projects.
