* Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with standard company HSE procedures and work instructions

As a/an Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will have the following accountabilities:
* Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with standard company HSE procedures and work instructions
* Contribute to the management and maintenance of a contract cost reporting system ensuring all financial information is managed and up-to-date and tracked with budget/tender allowances, commitments and deviations highlighted and managed
* With other members of the team, produce and provide accurate subcontract and procurement forecasts and project cost to completion.
* Continually monitor costs in line with budget.
* Ensure that necessary interface information between customers, suppliers, sub-contractors and other departments is provided in a timely manner.
* Monitor cash flow and valuation plan, ensuring applications are made correctly and in a timely manner.
* Ensure contract variations are identified, valued and turned into agreed variation orders with the customer in a timely manner.
* Assist in ensuring effective records are maintained to support change / claims and that applications for payment for variations are issued in a timely manner.
* Manage the subcontract tender process, including the selection of sub-contractors and provision of all relevant contract and schedule documentation.
* Ensure that subcontracts are placed in an appropriate manner to step down appropriate responsibilities from the Head Contract. Including design considerations where necessary.
* Provide accurate monthly reporting of cost and value on the project in line with the Companys reporting process.
Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
* Membership of a relevant professional body and/or relevant professional qualification, such as InstCES/RICS
* Previous experience in Quantity Surveying, some of which should have been obtained within a relevant business of factory facility environment
* Sound working knowledge of construction and contract law and various forms of Conditions of Contract
* Detailed knowledge and understanding of tendering and procurement processes
* Knowledge and understanding of sub-contracting principles, together with the ability to draft and administer sub contracts
* Working knowledge of labour productivity assessments
* A valid CSCS card is beneficial but not essential

Reporting to the Framework Manager, the Senior Construction Manager is responsible for providing construction management and co-ordination of the delivery of multi-system Mechanical work packages including engineering design and procurement activities for all Mechanical works. As a/an Senior Construction Manager, you will have the following accountabilities:
* Provide weekly and or monthly installation reports for all works including any sub-contractor as required to the SPM; including: progress, key achievements, significant issues, emerging risks and opportunities, cost and schedule forecasts, including monthly report narrative.
* Work closely and take overall responsibility of the construction team that will consist of Project Engineers, Quality Engineers, Quantity surveyor, Supervision and a blue collar workforce trades.
* Managing stakeholders, taking account of their levels of influence and particular interests
* Ensure that packages are delivered to programme, budget, safety and quality expectations/standards.
* Ensure packages comply with good design practice and relevant technical group standards.
* Ensure the relevant design deliverables are reviewed, accurate and fit for purpose prior to works commencing.
* Identifying risks to project Team associated with the delivery of their works raising commercial notifications alongside the commercial team as appropriate.
* Consolidating and documenting the fundamental components of projects (scope, schedule, resource requirements, budgets, risks, opportunities and issues, and quality requirements)
* Establishing, and implementing where necessary, protocols to change the scope of projects and updating configuration documents as required to enable the management of change.

Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
* Industrial Mechanical bias construction background/qualifications.
* Recognised experience in offsite pipework fabrication

* Experience in NDE, PWHT, and methods of testing & chemical cleaning for differing pipe systems.
* Recognised experience in coordinating Temporary works, Rigging Activities and Lifting Activity approvals (Preferably qualified Lifting AP).
* Experienced in coordinating access requirements including appropriate Working at Height selection and or scaffolding request coordination

Techniche are working with a large Engineering Contractor who are seeking an experienced Project Engineer. This is a long term infrastructure project in Plymouth. The infrastructure programme is currently finalising the concept design and seeking to mobilise further resources to support the scheme and detailed design phase as well as commencing onsite physical enabling works to support the longer term construction contract.

The infrastructure programme is currently finalising the concept design and seeking to mobilise further resources to support the scheme and detailed design phase as well as commencing onsite physical enabling works to support the longer term construction contract.
The primary purpose of the Senior Project Engineer (Buildings) is to assist the Package Manager and Berthing Services in the delivery of project scope.
Experience Required:
* Experience Demonstrable experience working in a Project.
* Demonstrable experience and knowledge structures or services.
* Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
* To be able to demonstrate Project Engineering in a Nuclear related field.
* Effective writing and presentation skills.
Responsibilities & Duties:
* Ensuring the requirements of conventional Health & Safety Legislation are met by compliance with Project procedures.
* To ensure a plan of key activities and milestones is in place, which consistently represents the programme to be achieved for the package.
* Support the Project Manager / Package Manager in development, monitoring of progress.
* To ensure that effective cost control and monitoring is planned and implemented.
* To provide regular reports on progress, for inclusion in the project monthly report.
* To ensure that the work package construction proceeds in accordance with the Project programme whilst meeting the requirements of the Project quality goals and safety case requirements
* To ensure that the design and associated safety cases meet the work package programme and is correctly interpreted with the minimum of change, whilst remaining fit for purpose.
* To identify and manage specifically those areas that represent significant risk to the work package through proactive planning, i.e. interface management.
* To closely liaise with the required stakeholders to ensure all set to work, commissioning and operational requirements are identified without prejudicing the programme.
* Receive and distribute documents i.a.w. Company & project procedures.
* To liaising with sub-contractor and Document Control sections regarding the issue and receipt of drawings and documents.
* Establish and maintain a tracking register of all documents and drawings and revisions on CDMS.
* To receive and issue preliminary drawings, documents and schedules to ensure that the sub-contractor/partners have up to date information for planning and construction purposes.
* To act as the project archivist by liaison with the Document Control section in the maintenance of listings of appropriate project documents

Additionally, you will be responsible for a range of projects from varying market sectors, with services being provided from inception / feasibility to detailed co-ordinated construction working design. THE PERSON:
To be considered for this role, you need to have a good understanding of the Mechanical Design within a Building Services Consultancy or Contractor.
