Job Description
Metro Mechanical is expanding, and we are looking to recruit a dedicated Technical Drainage Manager to join our Reactive Helpdesk Team based at our Gravesend HQ.
We offer a competitive salary starting at £40,000 depending on experience, discretionary bonus scheme, a great working culture, 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, employer contribution pension scheme, regular training and career development, personal accident cover, free use of well-equipped private on-site gym, company social events throughout the year and free parking. Working hours: Mon – Fri, 40 hours per week.
The Role:
As Technical Drainage Manager this predominately office-based role involves technically triaging jobs, advising, and assisting field based reactive Drainage Engineers and supporting our Helpdesk team on technical drainage matters relating to customer’s reactive works.
Day to day you will be managing the technical operations on our busy reactive helpdesk and monitoring the quality of drainage work carried out by our field engineers.
You will also be supervising and managing a team of engineers including their performance reviews, appraisals, and recruitment.
There will be occasional requirements to visit client sites to meet drainage engineers and assess in progress and completed works and give technical advice on best practice within our meticulous quality control and customer service level agreements, therefore, you will need to have a full UK driving licence.
We are a very customer focused business so strong communication skills are a key component for this role.
The Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience of working in the Drainage sector is essential for this role, along with a strong technical knowledge of drainage works. This role will be great for a candidate who has worked as a field Drainage Engineer or perhaps CCTV Drainage Technician and would now like to develop a career in operations within the office.
A good IT knowledge and strong organisational skills will be key for this position.
We will give in-house training on help desk systems and processes, but it will be essential that the successful candidate has knowledge of the drainage industry and terminology.
