Construction Manager Bristol Temp until end of March 2023 £30.12 per hour (Umbrella company basis)
Our client a leader within the construction industry are seeking a Construction Manager on a temporary basis to work between 2 sites in Bristol.
Role Purpose
Effectively and professionally manage the day to day on site activities of various small construction projects at two schools, through to completion, including snagging/sign off.
Projects potentially include supervising the installation of various temporary classrooms and changing facilities, internal fit outs of science classrooms, external groundworks, an all-weather MUGA pitch and a small car park
KEY DUTIES:
Manage the various main contractors and sub-contractors to ensure works are installed to programme and to the required quality
Design is developed and signed off to meet procurement and manufacture of materials in line with construction programme. Able to flex hours to suit if necessary for project delivery
Manage and oversee subcontractors, labour and material requirements for the contract and support Project Managers with matters primarily relating to on site activities
Regular communication with the project team and understanding the contract and its requirements
Knowledge of scope to ensure works are installed as per the specification/drawings
Able to detail out sequencing of works with the project team and contractors and review and manage key interfaces between specific elements of the construction works
Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with statutory regulations, current standards and company quality assurance procedures
Understand and appreciate the regulations that are applicable and be familiar with the requirements under the CDM regulations.
Ensure good communication within the project team and liaise with all contractor construction managers, supervisors and nominated school staff.
Ensure effective on-site management, liaison and oversight of the works on site.
Assist in understanding the design process and report to project manager/design team any design anomalies
Regular communication with the design team and involvement in design process
Solve site problems when they occur, providing feedback to the Project Manager
Actively work with the project team, reporting any potential problems
Ensure good record keeping and documentation control and work closely with Health and Safety managers and Environmental Managers to ensure good control of HS&E responsibilities.
Regular contact with various support teams and ensure good project control

Construction related qualification to HNC level
Working Environment
Based at one site in Bristol + required to travel to second site
Role will require DBS Enhanced with Barring List
