Estimator – Demolition £50,000 - £62,000 + full benefits Slough, Berkshire About the company: Our privately-owned client is an award winning specialist contractor who undertakes projects throughout Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey and the surrounding home counties. Having been established for over 20 years, this client has grown year on year into a multi-disciplined provider of waste management, demolition and plant hire and they pride themselves on their excellent reputation to deliver projects within budget and to program, whilst always maintaining high standards and quality. About the opportunity: Due to continued company growth, my client is recruiting permanently for a knowledgeable Estimator who holds proven experience of putting together tenders, project costings and valuations for technical demolition schemes. General duties and responsibilities will include by not be limited to: * Developing strong relationships with external clients, consultants, and other specialists; * Developing and maintaining market awareness on materials and sub-contractor prices; * Maintaining database of standard cost allowances and work closely with the commercial department to ensure cost assumptions are current; * Responsible for taking off quantities, procuring competitive quotations, analysing the results and producing finalisation documents; * Consider drawings and employers requirements, understanding the requirements of the tender documentation; * Consider sub-contract quotes and attendances to incorporate into estimates; * Visit site to establish site constraints etc, that may affect pricing strategy; * Be technically competent with a very good understanding of the demolition process; * Analyse and critique all information provided to Department for cost effectiveness; * Explore and present innovative construction techniques to reduce cost; * Value engineer specifications and materials to enhance cost effectiveness; * Manage and complete PQQ`s including the technical and quality aspects for tender return; * Any other ad-hoc duties as requested by Manager. About the requirements: In order to be considered for this opportunity, it is imperative that you have proven success of pricing demolition packages valued in excess of £1M. You must hold a construction industry degree or professional qualification (MRICS or MCIOB), a good understanding of the JCT standard forms of contract and hold excellent IT skills. About the benefits and rewards: For this permanent opportunity, my client is targeting professionals looking to earn anywhere from £50,000 to £62,000 per annum however there may be flexibility on this as the specific salary will depend on experience and suitability. Furthermore, there will be a generous package offered in addition to the usual benefits associated with a large successful contractor.
