Senior Environment Planning & Permitting Manager

H9 Technical are currently looking to recruit a Senior Environment Planning and Permitting (EPP) Manager to join a major renewable energy business, who specialise in the Solar and Battery Storage sector. This is a permanent, home-based role, with frequent travel required to UK sites. Purpose of Role: This role leads on environment planning and permitting (EPP) across the Group in the UK, covering both Solar and Storage projects. Responsibilities: Manage all licences, consents, variations, and discharge of conditions for UK projects, ensuring company environmental compliance. Manage all EPP stakeholders, building relationships and developing and managing the various project stakeholder engagement plans. Lead the legislation and consenting requirements for conversion of all projects of significant importance to the portfolio. Identification of EPP consultants and contractors, the establishment of development contracts and support in managing those suppliers. Lead on EPP to acquire planning and permitting Line management responsibility for personnel within the environmental compliance team. Management of budget and consents legal work. Work with the Project Delivery team and project development team to assess and prioritise projects and development opportunities. Lead on all environmental and consents aspects for site selection and bid processes. Deliver buildable consents and licenses for selected projects on time, to specification and within budget. Liaise with partners and internal colleagues (e.g., legal, finance, engineering, H&S) to ensure projects are designed and developed to be practical, efficient, and safe, that EIAs and consent applications are adequately scoped and that all consents received are fit for purpose Build and maintain relationships with statutory and non-statutory bodies. Manage the condition discharge process for construction projects. Represent Atlantis on key industry bodies and scientific groups as required Monitor and inform colleagues about relevant legislation, guidance, and associated implications in relation to environmental issues across the industries in which we operate Manage and report environmental compliance of construction sites and contractors Oversee development and implementation of Environmental Monitoring Lead regulatory engagement with all government agencies and other regulatory bodies acting as point of contact for all consenting authorities and regulatorsQualifications: Critical thinker with a can-do approach to problem solving Comfort with ambiguity and managing workload given shifting and/or competing priorities Highly analytical with strong quantitative and research capabilities Excellent written and oral communication skills, including quickly researching and synthesizing unfamiliar topics Ability to work with stakeholders, representing the client at various levels both internal and external Ability to work independently with limited supervision Good written and spoken EnglishJob Benefits Highly competitive salary in region of £60,000-£70,000 per annum.
