Working alongside a friendly team specialising in projects across the defence and security sectors, you will be put through security clearence and have the potential for future global travel, as well as great progression opportunities within a highly organised team environment. Person Specification – Assistant Quantity Surveyor: * Qualified to degree level or equivilent in Quantity Surveying or associated subject * Able to pass SC security clearance * Experience with NEC3 contracts would be ideal but is not essential * Good eye for detail and ability solve problems efficiently * Willing to travel with an eyes wide open approach to life and people Roles & Responsibilities – Assistant Quantity Surveyor: You will work directly under the Commercial Manager, assisting and developing your experience within all areas of work. The commercial department ensures that all commercial aspects of projects are properly managed and controlled, and that commercial strategy is developed and delivered in accordance with the business plan. Areas of responsibility include: – * Researching materials, equipment and labour costs in weird and wonderful locations * Gathering quotes from sub contractors and suppliers * Assessing the levels of risk on a project * Analysing company data, exchange rates * Preparing and submitting tenders * Support the Project Managers with raising variations and valuations * Managing sub-contractors * Producing CVRs and monitoring the stages of a project to make sure that costs are kept in line with forecasts * Ensure financial success of projects especially by improving forecasting systems and ensuring opportunity for disallowed costs is * shut down promptly Salary & Package – Assistant Quantity Surveyor: Our client is offering salary of up to £40,000 per annum dependent on experience.
