Job Description

Senior Quantity Surveyor Overview The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for the project budgets and keeping on top of all the costs involved in large-scale construction projects. You will oversee projects and monitor plans to ensure deadlines are met, projects stay within budget and work is up to standard. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be supported and guided by the Operations Director, to whom they will report to. The successful applicant must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate strong attention to detail. Duties of the Senior Quantity Surveyor include: • Maximise profit and minimise cost • Review and issue budgets for labour, plant, material, prelims etc… • Oversee and maintain monthly cost reports against budgets • Identify and effectively highlight and manage any risks • Manage expectations internally and externally • Build a team to provide commercial support and advice for each department. Requirements of the role: The successful applicant will: * Ideally have the relevant experience / hold a relevant qualification (e.g. Quantity Surveying or Construction Management). * Have experience in the Cladding / Facades market. * Strong educational background with good numeracy and literacy skills. * Demonstrate and develop an understanding of cost and value with strong contractual knowledge. * Be self-motivated, detail orientated and very organised, with an aptitude for working with numbers and absorbing and analysing technical information. * Strong commercial awareness * Demonstrate a genuine interest and understanding of construction processes. * Be able to work well both in a team and individually with the ability to manage a team. * Possess good communication skills. * Remain calm under pressure. * Hold a valid, clean driving licence
