Senior Design Manager

We are currently looking for a Senior Design Manager in Bromley, London. The role of Design Manager is one that requires excellent communication and relationship skills as they will be interfacing with various departments internally and with clients, designers and subcontractors externally. You must be able to manage your own time and workload between the preconstruction and delivery teams. You need to be a proactive and positive member of the team as well as have a strong understanding of buildability and technical design. Key Responsibilities: * Providing the full Design Management function which includes liaison with external specialist technical designers * Full understanding of scope and employer’s requirements * Full understanding of building regulations and all current relevant standards * Appreciation of environmental impact of materials, working with sustainability team * Ability to present at interview as part of the tender process * Research and provision of samples and the ability to offer similar alternatives * Research and provision of sampling including benchmarking when required * Offering VE alternatives * Close liaison with subcontractors and will chair/lead DTMs * Close liaison with the project team and attending progress meetings as required * Production and monitoring of design/sample trackers * Review and development of contractor’s proposal documents and coordination of all associated drawings * Off-site workshop visits * Reviewing tenders, offering areas of adding value as far as design support required for the document itself * Working with internal graphic designers and subcontractors on the production of project specific drawings, build ups, 3D images and animations to improve our documents for tenders and pitches Beneficial skills: * AUTOCAD * REVIT * Technical design skills * Space planning * Ability to generate CGIs * Understanding of BIM If interested, please apply now
