Job Description

Morrison Water Services is currently looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to work on our HS2 contract in the West Midlands. As the Quantity Surveyor you will be part of our HS2 Northern Team who are responsible for numerous utility diversion schemes on this iconic mega-project. HS2 is a state-of-the-art, high-speed line critical for the UK’s low-carbon transport future. It will provide much needed rail capacity across the country and is integral to rail projects in the North and Midlands. This all helps to re-balance the UK economy. Our works are performed on behalf of Tier 1 Joint Venture organisations across the prestigious HS2 Phase 1 project from London to Birmingham. As a Quantity Surveyor your duties and responsibilities will be: Administer the NEC form of contracts Raise early warning notices to the client and subcontractors Identifying, notifying and pricing of compensation events Production or supporting the production of CVRs and P&L reports Manage subcontractors from tender enquiries to final accounts Reviewing subcontract quotations and placing subcontract orders Assessing and paying subcontract applications Preparing applications for payment for assigned work packages Checking time-sheets and staff allocations for individual work packages Agreeing final accounts with clients and subcontractors Skills & Knowledge Requirements Previous experience in a similar role Working knowledge of the NEC3 suite of contracts Previous experience with a civil engineering or utilities contractor Experience with administering multiple packages of work What’s in it for you? 25 days' annual leave plus 8 days' bank holiday Annual bonus Pension scheme Life Assurance Private health care Company car and fuel card
