Senior Building Control Surveyor

Spencer Clarke Group are working alongside a Local Authority in West Yorkshire to appoint a Senior Building Control Surveyor on a 6-month contract. As a successful Senior Building Control Surveyor, your duties will be: Carrying out the full range of proactive Building Control or Public Safety duties and act as a senior professional taking the lead on projects where required. You will also assist with the management of the functional teams Undertaking a lead role on building regulatory matters Analysing and evaluating all the functional design features Leading on enforcement matters Investigating complaints and making decisions on or advising The Building Control Manager(BCM) potential courses of action Undertaking inspections, attending/chairing meetings, liaising with the Sports Grounds Safety Authority Responding to reports of dangerous structures Carrying out surveys and preparing technical reports e.g. structural, fire safety, accessibility, etc. of existing and new buildings To be considered, you will have the following knowledge/experience: Advanced knowledge and understanding of the Building Regulations and allied legislation Fully conversant with the legislation affecting dangerous structures and demolitions Knowledge and understanding in a national, regional and local context of competitive services, Building Regulation markets, public safety issues and enforcement Extensive experience of dealing with safety of sports grounds legislation, chairing Safety Advisory Groups, undertaking during performance inspections, and a detailed understanding of SGSA guidance Membership of a relevant professional body LABC level 6 competency or ability to demonstrate competency to work at that level What’s on offer Salary: Negotiable to market rates Contract type: 6 Months Hours: Mon-Fri 37 hrs Location: WFH, occasional office visits in West Yorkshire required If you’ve got what it takes and would love to find out more information or apply, either Hit the apply button now and follow the steps Contact Joe O’Halloran at Spencer Clarke Group on (phone number removed) Email your CV to Joe at Spencer Clarke Group WHY SPENCER CLARKE?!
