Health and Safety Manager
As the Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager you will be reporting into the Group HSE Manager with a team of remote working HSE Auditors covering the region. You will be responsible for the establishment, integration and the use of the H&S System ensuring industry leading techniques are utilised.
Responsibilities
- Setting out, writing, owning and maintaining all HSE standards and requirements
- Creating a Health & Safety ethos to drive the all employees to never walk away from an H&S issue, to question themselves and others on is it safe, am I safe, do I have right training and tools
- Be an integral part of the team associated with selecting, on boarding and induction of Sub Contractors
- Work with Sub-Contractors to report on a regular basis HSE performance
- Report to all Senior team on the HSE performance including Sub-Contractors against industry recognised measures around reportable incidents, lost working days etc
- Be the reporting line into HSA for any reportable incidents and drive through any improvements required
- Evaluate, specify and release PPE pertinent for all roles, ensure all PPE is fit for purpose and available in good working order for all staff
- Provide in house onboarding and induction for all new employees, providing any in house HSE training required and specifying any outsourced training required
Requirements
- Full Driving License is required
- IOSH Leading Safety
- NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety - Certificate as a minimum
- NRSWA Unit 2
- IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management desirable
- PIA Accreditation desirable
- Construction Design Management (CDM) training desirable
- Appreciation of civils activities and methodologies to build networks, duct laying, narrow/micro trenching, poling etc
- Experience within the telecoms market desirable
